Bradbourne Group of the Riding for the Disabled AssociationRegistered Charity No: 1074219OUR AIMThe object of the Riding for the Disabled Association is to give the opportunity of riding (or driving) to any disabled person who might benefit in their general health and well being. The Riding for the Disabled Association came into being in 1969 when there were about 80 groups of people spread around Britain providing riding for disabled people. The Bradbourne Group of the RDA is now over 40 years old. Our Chairman, Peter Felgate, was one of the pioneers who began taking disabled children for riding lessons in the early 1960s before there was any organised structure for providing riding for disabled people. At Bradbourne we have 350 registered riders and carriage drivers of whom about 150 ride or drive each week. We have 14 horses and ponies of various shapes and sizes. All of them are suitable age and temperament and have been carefully selected and trained for RDA work. RDA WebSite Link www.bradbourne-rda.org.uk
